NEWSLETTER OF
THE FPV & XR OWNERS CLUB OF ACT |
Welcome to 2009. With a new committee elected at our AGM in November 2008, the year ahead looks exciting. The first club meeting saw a fantastic roll up of new and old members, and despite the heat, was a great way to start the year. The events committee have been hard at work over the summer populating the events calendar (see events section), so start freeing up those weekends, you're going to be busy. |

President (Dave Connolly)
| Dave is a one-eyed XR6 Turbo owner and regularly refers to them as the superior weapon in the Ford stable. As a result of regular trips to Melbourne, Dave's XR6T is the queen of Dyno challenges. Dave's experience and passion for everything Ford, saw him as an obvious choice for President again this year. |
| Vice President (Karen Graham) |
| One of the few remaining E-Series owners in the club, Karen's calming influence ensures the male members of the committee are kept in line. Having two boys of her own (Brent and Jack), she is well experienced in this role. Karen has been largely involved in the ACT motoring scene since she was a small girl, and continues that involvement as VP. |
| Secretary (Jim Doyle) |
| Jim is a tireless worker for the club as recognised by him receiving the President's award in 2008. Mild mannered outside the car, when he steps into his T-Series his alter ego comes out. Like any good Secretary, Jim is the back bone of the Club and goes to any length to be of assistance. |
| Treasurer (Bill McKell) |
| Bill has been moving towards retirement for what seems an eternity, and looks forward to dividing his time between caravanning, and driving his beautiful GT-P. When the gloves come on, you know it is GT driving time. Being an Accountant, Bill provides a wealth of knowledge and experience to his role as Treasurer. |
| Promotions (Glenn Tinham) |
| Glenn does more hauling arse than anyone in the club, with his appearance at all club events. And why wouldn't he, with his beautifully presented XR8 ute. Noting that, Glenn is perfectly suited to his role within the committee, promoting the club at every possible chance. |
| Events (Richard Stevenson) |
| Richard is one half of a dynamic duo, Nicole being the other. Another XR6T owner, Richard sold his soul at the FPV Open Day in 2007 when he replaced his AU XR8. Richard keeps all the members of the club busy, arranging a wide variety of events to attend through-out the year. |

Dave Hanson's Blueprint XR6T has show and go. Whether it is being presented at a Show N' Shine, towing a boat up and over the Clyde, or strutting its stuff on a Dyno, the XR6T never ceases to turn heads. The attention to detail, especially in the engine bay, makes this a car desired by all.
Dave holds the honour of being voted by the members of the FPV & XR Owners Club of ACT as the Clubman of the Year. Well done Dave, it is thoroughly deserved! |

On the 14th of March 2010, the FPV & XR Owners Club of ACT will be hosting its first ever All Ford Day on the east lawns of Old Parliament House. Building on the success of the Show N' Shine that has been hosted in previous years, this event is planned to bring the best Ford motor vehicles to the ACT as a show of devotion to the Ford brand.
Planning for the All Ford Day has begun, and members are encouraged to involve themselves in any way they can to ensure the success of this event. More details on the All Ford Day will be provided at club meetings and in the newsletter in the upcoming months. |

As mentioned previously, the events calendar is already filling up and is presented here. An updated events calendar can be found here. Richard, Chris and Pete are always looking for ideas for events so here is your chance to have some input. Send an email to the Events Committee.
